Building Setup

Completing Your Building

Setting up your building involves adding all the floors and associated areas, as well as listing the trades that apply to the building. This is an essential step to ensure everything is organized for tracking and management. To access the Project Dashboard click on the building card from the Organization Dashboard and it will redirect you accordingly.

Step 1: Navigating to the Floors Page

Click the logo in the top right corner next to your name and select Building. This will take you to the Floors Page, which displays a list of floors on the left side. In the future, this page will also show the floor plan as a PDF based on the selected floor.

Step 2: Adding Floors

Start by clicking the "Add Floor" button, which will open an input box. Enter each floor individually, beginning from parking and moving up to the roof. For numbered floors like Level 7, only enter the number 7, as the generated QR codes will display "Floor:" next to the name.

Quick Tips:

  • Add all floors systematically and ensure that each one is listed.
  • For floors with units numbered under 10, we recommend adding a leading 0 to single digit numbers for better organization. (01, 02, and 03 units)

Step 3: Adding Areas to Each Floor

Once all floors are added, select a floor from the dropdown. You’ll see a small plus button that allows you to add associated areas to that floor. Refer to your architectural plans and list each area on the floor. We recommend including areas like stairwells, as they might contain items that need attention.

Repeat this process for each floor until all areas are defined. This setup is designed to be done once and then left as is. If you need assistance with this step, reach out for onboarding support, as it can be time-consuming to complete.

Step 4: Adding Trades

Navigate to the Trades section using the navigation bar. This section will show a list of trades associated with the building. To add trades:

  1. Click the "Add Trade" button in the bottom left.
  2. A popup will appear where you can input the name of each trade individually.

Enter all the trades that will be present on-site, ensuring comprehensive coverage.

Final Step: Completing Your Setup

Once all floors, areas, and trades have been added, your building setup is complete! From this point, all related data will be tracked, and you’ll be ready to print off your QR codes for each area.
